Dane County effort aims to curb state incarceration of teen offenders

A new pilot program in Dane County seeks to help at-risk young people receive support in the community rather than be sent to state correctional facilities.

County Executive Melissa Agard and youth justice leaders unveiled the program Wednesday. Joining Agard were Circuit Court Judge Everett Mitchell, Juvenile Court Administrator Ed Pearson and Juvenile Detention Superintendent Albert Watson.
