Lubbock man files suit claiming Corley negligent in crash

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A Lubbock man has filed a lawsuit against Jason Corley and a fertilizer company, claiming Corley was driving in a distracted and negligent manner and crashed into the man’s vehicle, injuring him.

Bryan Hernandez filed the suit in the 72nd State District Court against Corley and Magline, Inc, a company based in Plainview. Corley told KCBD he believes the lawsuit is frivolous and believes the truth will come out in court.

Corley has served as Lubbock County Commissioner for Precinct 2 since 2019. Last week, County Judge Curtis Parrish removed Corley from office, accusing Corley of automatically ceding his seat by becoming a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives. Corley called Parrish’s move a “corrupt power play” and filed suit seeking re-instatement. A hearing is scheduled Friday, Dec. 19 in the matter…
