Lawsuit: Dating apps knew Denver doctor drugged, raped a user but took no steps to protect others

DENVER — Six women drugged and assaulted by a Denver cardiologist filed suit Tuesday, naming not only the doctor but companies that operated the dating apps he used to find victims, 9NEWS Investigates has learned.

A jury last year convicted Dr. Stephen Matthews of 35 felony counts for drugging 11 women – and in many cases sexually assaulting them. Prosecutors believe he had other victims.

Matthews is serving a state prison sentence of 158 years to life…
