Governor Jared Polis visited Greeley on Wednesday to meet with University of Northern Colorado (UNC) leadership and to see the future site of the College of Osteopathic Medicine.
“Thanks to the bipartisan HB24-1231 State Funding for Higher Education Projects, Colorado is making a historic investment in higher education and health care — training the next generation of physicians and expanding access to care, especially in rural and underserved communities,” Governor Polis said on X.
HB24-1231 was signed into law by Governor Polis on May 1, 2024 and provides up to $246,936,092 in combined financing to four Colorado colleges and universities for the construction of new facilities. $127.5 million is financed to the University of Northern Colorado for the College of Osteopathic Medicine, which is more than half of the total allocated financing money provided in the bill…
