Former commander of Idaho veteran’s organization indicted for $1.45M wire, tax fraud

BOISE, Idaho — A federal grand jury in Boise has indicted a Florida man on multiple fraud charges tied to the alleged misuse of funds from a Idaho-based nonprofit veterans organization.

U.S. Attorney Bart M. Davis on Monday announced that 56-year-old Charles Thomas Abrahamson is charged with wire fraud and tax fraud.

According to the indictment, Abrahamson worked for Idaho American Legion between 2017 and 2024, serving in leadership roles including adjutant and commander. In those positions, prosecutors say he had control over the organization’s financial accounts…
