Grocery stores without power after storm offer limited access, close early in SW Portland

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Power outages from Tuesday night’s storm forced businesses across the Portland area to close or limit operations on Wednesday, leaving shoppers scrambling for alternatives.

On Barbur Boulevard in southwest Portland, power was out on Wednesday since 9 a.m., affecting traffic lights and forcing many businesses to remain closed. Fred Meyer and Safeway, among the few stores that opened, faced significant operational challenges.
