Sparks stores crack down on theft with targeted operation that lead to multiple arrests

Six people were arrested or cited during a targeted operation against retail theft at a Home Depot and Walmart in Sparks on Wednesday.

The Sparks Police Department partnered with the stores to address ongoing theft issues, focusing on apprehending people involved in shoplifting and related crimes.

Among those taken into custody was 46-year-old Austin Garner, who was charged with first-degree commercial burglary and possession of burglary tools. 38-year-old Luis Magana-Cervantes was cited for petit larceny and a misdemeanor warrant. 45-year-old Elidania Rivas was also taken into custody on a misdemeanor warrant, while 40-year-old David Mena-Padilla received a citation for petit larceny…
