One of Clark County’s most rock-and-roll pizza pubs has officially called it quits. Heavy Metal Pizza & Explorer Brewing Co. (a go-to spot for bold pies, craft brews, live music, and late-night karaoke) has closed its doors permanently as of mid-December 2025.
🎸 A Rockin’ Start
Heavy Metal Pizza & Explorer Brewing Co., located at 809 MacArthur Blvd, carved out a niche in Vancouver with its unapologetically loud branding, crave-worthy pizza, and a welcoming atmosphere where craft beer and heavy riffs collided. The place became known for creative pizza names and flavors, live music nights, and a brewpub experience that leaned into both comfort food and craft culture.
📉 The Final Days
In early December 2025, the pizza parlor/brewery posted an emotional update to social media indicating that it was at risk of closing by December 31st, 2025; they urged the community for a “Christmas Miracle” by returning for pizzas, pints, and live shows to help boost foot traffic.
Just a day later (December 13th, 2025), they reported a major setback when their cooler broke down, forcing an earlier shutdown.
Two days later (December 15th, 2025), the owners confirmed that the business would close immediately and permanently, citing a “multitude of reasons” and expressing gratitude to longtime customers and newcomers alike.
🍕 What’s Next For Heavy Metal Pizza and Explorer Brewing Co.?
As of now, there are no public plans to reopen under new ownership or to replace the space with a similar concept. The closure marks the end of an era for a spot that tried to blend Vancouver’s love of good food, craft beer, and loud music in one eclectic package.
For folks who enjoyed Heavy Metal Pizza & Explorer Brewing Co., its absence will leave a noticeable gap in Vancouver’s food and nightlife scene…but its memory will surely live on through the slices and songs it served up over the years…
