Thousands see power restored in NE Ohio as winds ramp up

CLEVELAND (WJW) — Thousands of Northeast Ohio residents are thankfully seeing their power return Thursday evening as wind whips through the region, FirstEnergy reported on its online outage tracker.

As of 5:40 p.m., about 8,000 customers were without power in Lorain County, which was down from about 13,000 customers just 20 minutes prior. But by 6 p.m., only 100 customers were without power.

There were about 80 customers without power in Cuyahoga County.

Cleveland Public Power has not reported any outages as of yet Thursday.

According to FOX 8 meteorologists, big weather changes are coming for Northeast Ohio overnight.

The National Weather Service has also issued a wind advisory for more western counties through 10 p.m.
