ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) – Albemarle County Public Schools and the Albemarle Education Association have reached a tentative collective bargaining agreement.
This comes after several months of contract negotiations. The tentative agreement contains benefits such as paid parental leave and expanded planning time for elementary teachers.
“The school board put together a resolution to say we want to look toward collective bargaining so that process has been ongoing,” ACPS Public Information Officer Jason Grant said. “This is the first time we’ve had a collective bargaining unit for our employees, so this is a first time for all of us for sure.”…
