Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is currently handling a death investigation following an incident in the Hickory Grove Division, as first reported by the CMPD Newsroom. Yesterday morning, December 16, police were dispatched to a medical assistance call on the 7600 block of Gwynne Hill Road.
Officials disclosed that upon arrival at approximately 7:40 a.m., a juvenile was found unresponsive. Despite swift transport to a local hospital by MEDIC, the young patient was pronounced dead, the CMPD’s Public Affairs Division reported. Homicide Unit detectives have taken the helm of the investigation, and Crime Scene Search has been deployed to gather physical evidence from the scene.
The collective effort also includes support from CMPD’s Operations Command, Victim Services, and Charlotte Fire, indicating the serious nature of the case.
