COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)- Happy Thursday! It has been sort of a miserable day, with overcast skies and showers moving through. The good news: we won’t be seeing these showers for long!
Friday: The cold front will push through tonight, and with it, one last round of rain. Some of these storms could be strong to our west, but we expect them to weaken before entering our area. Once the front clears, we are left with beautiful skies and temperatures in the upper 50s.
DROUGHT UPDATE: Check out this week’s drought update! We continue to see improvement with the drought. Several counties (Clay, Quitman, Randolph, Sumter, Stewart, and Webster) have been removed from the severe drought.
The Weekend: Readings will drop below freezing again on Saturday. Weekend highs will be in the mid-60s. Plus, high pressure will keep clear skies in the forecast for a few days.
Next Week: Another weak front will arrive on Monday. A few showers are possible to our north, but we are on track to stay dry for Christmas week. Temperatures will continue to rise next week. By Christmas, many areas could see highs in the 70s. …
