DECATUR, Ind. (WANE) – A woman who already has a trial lined up in Allen County over the alleged neglect of her child now also faces federal charges that could put her in prison for decades.
Katherine Jackson, also known as Katherine Conapinski, was initially arrested in February after allegedly making false claims that her daughter’s chronic illness was terminal — but at the same time, allegedly not providing her daughter with the right amount of medication. She was also accused of taking advantage of GoFundMe and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the latter of which approved the family for a trip to Disney World years ago.
Jackson is slated for a trial in March 2026 on charges of fraud and multiple counts of neglect. Court records show Jackson was given monitored conditional release while awaiting trial…
