The Spartanburg NAACP #5550 stands firmly against the proposed presence of additional data centers in Spartanburg County, which we believe pose a significant and unacceptable environmental justice burden on our communities.
The rapid, largely unregulated expansion of hyperscale data centers is an act of corporate extractivism that disproportionately harms communities of color, low-income areas, and residents already facing underserved resources. We urge local leadership and the public to fully recognize these threats before irreversible decisions are made.
