The Winter Haven Police Department is currently on the hunt for Diante Leon Scarvers, a 20-year-old suspect linked to a recent shooting incident that occurred over the weekend. According to FOX 13 News, the shooting took place on the evening of Sunday, December 14, just after 8:15 p.m. near Ave P NW in Winter Haven. One individual suffered a minor injury to his thumb during the incident.
As reported by WTSP, the injured victim conveyed to the authorities he was heading to the store with another person when shots were fired at them from a dark-colored sedan driving on Ave M NW, this led to both men running to a nearby home where they later met with police officers. The victim that got hit was subsequently transported to BayCare Health for treatment of his hand wound.
In a pursuit of justice, Winter Haven detectives have followed several investigative leads that pointed them toward Scarvers, who is now facing charges of attempted first-degree murder, this comes as he is accused of opening fire on the two individuals, as detailed by The Winter Haven Sun.
