The driver of a box truck led authorities on a chase on I-985 through Flowery Branch and Buford on Wednesday night, Dec. 17, before fleeing on foot.
The Georgia State Patrol said at around 11:59 p.m., troopers were stopped in the left-turn lane at SR 347 and I-985 when a Flowery Branch Police Department unit passed them while pursuing a blue Budget box truck.
Troopers began pursuing the truck when FBPD requested assistance. Troopers activated their blue lights and siren, caught up to the vehicle traveling south on I-985 and took over the primary pursuit.
The box truck continued south on I-985 before pulling over to the right shoulder just north of Exit 4. After stopping, the driver fled on foot into the woods…
