Convicted caregiver sentenced to a year in prison in developmentally disabled teen’s death

LUCAS COUNTY, Ohio (WTVG) – A caregiver convicted of patient endangerment was sentenced to a year in prison Wednesday in connection with the death of a 19-year-old developmentally disabled man.

Jeffrey King was one of the caregivers in the van with Ethan Kleinhans when the teen died from asphyxiation after being tangled in a vehicle safety harness in March of 2024.
