CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Eastern Iowa pet owners may not realize how limited emergency veterinary care can be when something goes wrong overnight, a concern veterinary professionals say is tied to overnight emergency closures at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Cedar Rapids, the region’s primary emergency animal hospital.
Jan Erceg, co-founder and medical cases director at Critter Crusaders of Cedar Rapids, says access to 24/7 emergency care has been inconsistent since the pandemic.
