KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The Kansas City Council passed the second half of funding to keep city buses running, but amendments to the ordinance mean more work remains.
Council members went into closed session for half an hour when discussing the ordinance. They ultimately passed it with one council member voting no, but there were two changes made.
The city passed the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority’s contract in August. The council instructed the city manager to find more money — $15.5 million on top of the original $77.8 million.
The city manager shifted funds from different sources, including $2.5 million from the violence prevention fund, to cover the cost. However, one of the amendments was to keep that money there…
