The former owner of firearms distributor Hurricane Butterfly in Nampa, Jason Wong, had his case dismissed in court this week.
Wong, who was 52 when he was charged earlier this year, faced two counts of rape, strangulation and forcible penetration with an object based on allegations from a former romantic partner or roommate. Following his Feb. 20 arrest, Wong posted $1 million bail. At a May 27 hearing, he pleaded not guilty.
The charges were dismissed with prejudice, meaning Wong cannot be prosecuted again for the alleged crimes. A press release from Wong’s counsel, Bartlett Law, said that “Such dismissals are uncommon and reflect the State’s confidence in Mr. Wong’s innocence.”…
