Smith’s Union Bar is closing its door after over 90 years in business

HONOLULU (Island News) — After over 90 years in business, Smith’s Union Bar in Honolulu is closing its doors.

The longtime neighborhood favorite has served generations of patrons for nearly a century. Hawaii’s oldest bar was established in 1934 on N. Hotel Street in Chinatown after the end of prohibition.

There is still no exact date for the bar’s last day, but the owners said it will remain open while supplies last along with new alcohol prices in effect…
