GRCC student featured in national chronic pain campaign

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids Community College recently published the first episode of a new project on YouTube called “The Paper Jam.” It’s a celebration of music that Kara Davis, an editor for the school’s publication The Collegiate, organized — but it almost didn’t happen.

“That was probably the most stressful day I’ve had this entire semester,” the 19-year-old student explained. “But it was also my favorite day of my college career so far because it was just so much fun … and I was able to get through it because of this study.”

The study Davis referenced has transformed her from a child curled up on bathroom floors to a thriving college student featured in a new nationwide campaign from Michigan State University on chronic pain research.
