Santa and first responders bring holiday cheer to hospitalized children

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Christmas came early for children at McLaren Greater Lansing and U-M Sparrow hospitals on Wednesday, as Santa Claus and local first responders delivered toys and spread holiday cheer throughout the pediatric units.

The annual Santa’s First Responders event brought smiles to young patients and their families during what can be a difficult time of year.

For Nate Greeley and his wife, the pediatric ICU at Sparrow was the last place they wanted to be during the holidays. Their three-year-old daughter, Ellie, was hospitalized after a sledding accident…
