POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Polk County first responders came together earlier this week to support a paramedic who was critically injured in a crash earlier this month.

John Parris, a 32-year-old firefighter and paramedic, was in the back of an ambulance tending to a patient when the vehicle was struck by a pickup truck towing a trailer.
