School improperly reported autistic child restrained by teacher in Lancaster: report

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — A report from the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development said a local school improperly reported the restraining of an autistic child by his teacher.

It’s been ten months since a a 5-year-old non-verbal autistic boy was allegedly abused at his preschool. The incident, which came to the attention of the boy’s mother Heather Murphy more than two months after it occurred, led to the teacher allegedly responsible being deemed “uncertified to teach” in Pennsylvania.

Murphy said on Feb. 27, her son Vann was at Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 school for just 15 minutes before the teacher allegedly pinned him by his wrists and dragged him into a 4-by-4 room…
