MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police say a man took an ax to the front door of a house in Highland Heights while a family with three grandchildren were inside.
Police say the family in the house in the 3200 block of Coleman Avenue woke up to the sound of glass breaking at midnight Friday morning, and had no idea what was going on.
The suspect was found down the street with injuries he believed were from falling on the ax. He was later taken in critical condition to a hospital, where he was found to have been shot several times.
