2 injured after gunman opens fire on car on West Side overnight

CHICAGO — An investigation is underway on Friday morning after two men were shot while driving on the city’s West Side overnight.

Chicago police said the shooting occurred just after 8:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of West Washington Boulevard, in East Garfield Park.

Police said the victims, a 32-year-old man and a 35-year-old man, were in a vehicle headed northbound in the area when a dark-colored sedan approached. Officers said shortly after, an individual inside the dark sedan displayed a gun and opened fire on the victims’ car.
