State of Texas: Corley remains lawful holder of Precinct 2 seat

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The State of Texas is now taking up a lawsuit over who the commissioner is for southeast Lubbock County, after Lubbock County Judge Curtis Parrish removed Jason Corley from that seat last week.

The Potter County District attorney in Amarillo is representing the state, and has filed to intervene on Corley’s behalf. Scott Brumley filed a petition to lead the case against Mark Meurer on Tuesday. Meurer is the man County Judge Curtis Parrish swore in as Precinct 2 commissioner when he declared Corley’s seat vacant last week.
