Border Report Live: Members of San Antonio church on edge over ICE arrests

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) — Iglesia Cristiana Roca de Refugio has a simple stated mission: “We are a community of immigrants committed to loving and serving God.”

But the south San Antonio-based Mennonite church has been reeling in recent weeks as members are being targeted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Pastor says ICE arresting congregants at check-ins

Pastor Dianne Garcia was a guest on Border Report Live on Thursday. She said at least a dozen members of her church have been arrested by ICE, and seven have been deported this year, adding that the arrests took place during scheduled meetings with immigration officials.

Garcia also responds to a statement from the Department of Homeland Security about the arrests, which stated that those arrested either have outstanding warrants, are subject to court-issued removal orders, or have committed fraud, crimes, or other violations of immigration law…
