With an eye on improving efficiency regarding meetings for its all-volunteer City Council, the City of Springfield is changing the City Council Lunch Workshop schedule and will increase City Council committee meeting video coverage starting in January 2026.
Starting Jan. 5, 2026, City Council Lunch Workshops will generally be held every two weeks rather than weekly, and will be held on Mondays rather than Tuesdays, unless the Monday is a holiday. In that case, the lunch workshop will be held on Tuesday.
The City Clerk’s Office has also made the council’s standing committees meeting schedule more efficient by scheduling those meetings on Mondays or Tuesdays to reduce council members’ travel time and time away from their day jobs…
