BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — A former leader of the Idaho American Legion is facing federal fraud charges after a grand jury in Boise returned an indictment accusing him of stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from a nonprofit that serves military veterans.
Federal prosecutors say Charles Thomas Abrahamson, 56, of Venice, Florida, was indicted on charges of wire fraud and tax fraud, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Idaho.
Court documents allege that between 2017 and 2024, Abrahamson worked for a nonprofit veteran’s organization with operations in Idaho and served in multiple leadership roles, including adjutant and commander.
