Husband of former Phoenix news anchor sentenced to prison

PHOENIX — The husband of Stephanie Hockridge, a former Phoenix news anchor, was sentenced Thursday to prison after pleading guilty to a conspiracy offense.

Court records show Nathan Reis was sentenced to 10 years in prison, one month after Hockridge was also sentenced to a decade in prison. Hockridge had been an anchor at ABC15 for several years.

The criminal case against the couple accused them of defrauding the government’s Paycheck Protection Program, which was intended to assist businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. In April 2020, Reis and Hockridge formed a company called Blueacorn to help individuals receive PPP loans…
