PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office is releasing video footage of a police chase through Central Oregon on Monday involving the alleged kidnapping in Multnomah County of a 9-year-old.
The driver was identified as 46-year-old Charity Carter of La Pine, who refused to stop for authorities and started driving erratically, which sparked the initial pursuit.
“As Carter entered the Safeway parking lot in Redmond, she continued to drive erratically and dangerously. Deputies attempted to immobilize the vehicle to prevent further risk to the child and the public. Carter struck multiple patrol vehicles and two parked civilian vehicles while trying to escape,” officials said…
