‘I thought I was going to die’: Ann Arbor students at Brown University reflect on shooting

ANN ARBOR, MI — Frightened, uncertain and intermittently sobbing, Sadie Schultz and her boyfriend hid in a handicap bathroom for about four and a half hours while a shooting unfolded last weekend at Brown University.

“I had no idea if the next person I was going to see was going to have a gun,” Schultz, a 19-year-old Brown sophomore and Pioneer High School graduate, said Thursday in Ann Arbor.

She would hear a door open and close and start crying — again. “There were moments where I thought I was going die no matter where the shooter was, no matter where anybody was. I truly in my heart thought something was going to happen.”…
