Gabriel Stovall to join “Good Morning Augusta” team in January

AUGUSTA (WJBF) – WJBF NewsChannel 6 is proud to announce that, after a nationwide search, current sports anchor Gabriel Stovall has been named co-anchor of “Good Morning Augusta”. He will succeed Barclay Bishop who left in November to spend more time with her family.

“Gabriel has been a tremendous addition to our newsroom,” said WJBF News Director John Hart. “He is already established and heavily involved in our community. I look forward to watching him continue to grow in this new role”.

Stovall brings more than 20 years worth of award-winning journalism experience to GMA in both news and sports. After spending time as Assistant Sports Editor of the Louisville Courier-Journal in Louisville, Kentucky, he returned home with the Augusta Chronicle.
