A leadership transition is underway for the Diocese of Erie as Bishop Lawrence Persico has submitted his resignation.
Church law requires Catholic bishops to submit their resignation at age 75. Earlier this year, Bishop Lawrence Persico officially hit that milestone, marking the end of his tenure leading the diocese of Erie.
