ROBERTSDALE, Ala. (WKRG) — A heartbreaking crime. A bench was stolen from a cemetery that once sat beside Sue Hill’s husband’s grave — a bench that her children had given her to make her visits more comfortable.

“Why would anybody do that to anybody in the first place?” was the reaction Cassie Moore had upon hearing the news. “When I saw her picture of her there at her husband’s grave, it hurt my feelings, and it made me sad.”
She told her 17-year-old son, Carter, about the story. It hit hard but also inspired him.
“It really upset me because I was raised by a lot of women, and I have widows in my family as well, and it really connected to me, and it upset me deeply,” Carter Fraley said.
Almost immediately, Fraley got to work, sanding, cutting, and creating a new bench. “I thought it would be the Christian and the right thing to do,” said Fraley.
Unfortunately, Miss Hill hasn’t been to the cemetery lately because of her own health challenges, but she knows what Carter did. She’s seen photographs of the bench, and she used words like “wonderful”, “appreciative”, and “grateful”.
“It’s cool to be able to be a blessing,” Moore said. “I’m glad that my son could do that for her.”…
