Significant changes are coming for Horry County high school athletics programs.
The South Carolina High School League (SCHSL), on Friday, Dec. 19, completed its classification placement for the next two-year window (2026-28), and multiple local high schools will change their classifications starting in the 2026-27 academic year.
The following schools are set to have their classifications changed: Atlantic Collegiate (2A to 3A), Conway (5A to 4A), Myrtle Beach (5A to 4A), North Myrtle Beach (5A to 4A) and St. James (5A to 4A)…
