Woman who allegedly punched friend over missing scooter found near Circle K

A Leesburg woman was arrested on a warrant Tuesday after allegedly punching her friend who she believed stole her scooter.

On the night of Oct. 24, Jessica Francine Shrimplin, 36, showed up uninvited to her friend’s house in Leesburg to argue about a scooter, according to an affidavit of probable cause out of Lake County.

Shrimplin claimed her friend was trying to steal the scooter from her. Her friend explained this was not the case, that she found an unknown person who was trying to sell her scooter online. She paid for it and meant to return it to Shrimplin as a surprise, the affidavit said.

Her friend tried telling this to Shrimplin, but she punched her in the face about six times before stopping. She was wearing rings on her hands at the time, which likely contributed to the large bump left on her friend’s forehead and the laceration on the bridge of her nose, the affidavit said…
