Strongest Wind Gusts on the SouthCoast

It was a stormy Friday across Southern New England, with hurricane-force wind gusts being reported in some spots on the SouthCoast.

Between the inches of rain that fell across the region and the local street flooding, many people were focused on the water. Yet it was the wind that affected residents the most.

Over 35,000 people were reportedly without power in Massachusetts after the wild weather came through, 6400 of them in Bristol County. So exactly how high did those wind gusts get?

How Strong Were the Wind Gusts on the SouthCoast?

Here on the SouthCoast, Horseneck Beach in Westport saw some of the highest wind speeds. The National Weather Service reported them topping out at 64 MPH.
