West Palm Beach Announces Holiday Closures and Service Adjustments for Christmas and New Year’s Day

In observance of the upcoming holiday festivities, West Palm Beach is set to close several municipal facilities and adjust services accordingly. For the Christmas holiday, closures include important city fixtures such as City Hall, the Mandel Public Library, and the Grassy Waters Preserve Nature Center & Cypress Boardwalk Trail. These and all other non-essential services will be shuttered on Thursday, December 25 and Friday, December 26, according to a recent news release from the city. The announcement also details operational hours post-Christmas, signaling a return to normalcy on the following Monday for City Hall and Saturday for the library and nature preserve.

The West Palm Beach authorities have laid out a service plan for waste collection over Christmas that, denotes no residential trash and recycling service on December 25. Instead, residents can expect collection to resume on the next day that is scheduled. Furthermore, bulk and yard waste along with commercial services will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

Similarly, West Palm Beach is preparing for New Year’s Day with a set of specific operational plans. As the city welcomes 2026, services will again be curtailed with City Hall not reopening until 8 a.m. on Friday, January 2. The Mandel Public Library and the Grassy Waters Preserve will follow the same suit, also resuming services on January 2.
