Ari Nordhagen’s second book celebrates the people making the city’s beverage culture just as exciting as its culinary scene

As Ari Nordhagen was roaming around town researching The Spokane Drinks Book — a book she never intended to actually write — one name kept popping up in interviews: Patty Tully.

Patricia “Patty” Tully owns The Baby Bar, a cozy downtown nook housed in what once was the lounge of a motel dating back to 1972.

“Bartenders universally consider Patty to be the patron saint of craft drinks in Spokane,” Nordhagen says. “She is very humble and will say, ‘No way.’ But a lot of the bartenders told me to make sure Patty was in this book.”…
