COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A convicted felon who was part of a Columbus gang-related racketeering conspiracy that included drug trafficking, murders and weapons charges has pleaded guilty to illegally possessing a firearm after a routine traffic stop.
According to the federal prosecutors, Eric Henderson Jr. was flagged by Columbus police officers while driving on Loretta Drive in the North Linden neighborhood on June 23. Police reported that before the vehicle had completely stopped, Henderson ran from it while reaching under shirt near his waist.

Prosecutors said Henderson threw a firearm over a privacy fence before he was arrested. The weapon, a pistol that had a machine gun conversion device known as a switch, along with ammunition and an extended magazine, were recovered.
He was indicted in July and pleaded not guilty. On Wednesday, however, Henderson changed his plea to guilty, and he awaits sentencing…
