COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The Ohio Department of Transportation announced that the new flyover ramp on Interstate 71 near downtown Columbus will open to traffic on Saturday.
The nearly-mile-long flyover ramp carries I-71 southbound traffic above the Scioto River and over Interstate 70, eliminating the left-lane exit and the need to merge across three lanes of traffic.
The new flyover ramp will eventually have two lanes of traffic, but for now will have one lane open as construction continues near Greenlawn Avenue, according to ODOT.
