Tree limb crashes through windshield, injures driver in Cumberland County

SILVER SPRING TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WHTM) — A tree limb smashed through a windshield and injured a driver in Cumberland County on Friday.

According to a New Kingstown Fire Company Facebook post, high winds caused a tree limb to break off and strike a driver’s windshield on December 19 at around 1:50 p.m. The post says crews arrived at the scene and encountered the driver, who escaped the vehicle but needed medical attention.

The post says EMS treated the patient on scene, and no serious injuries occurred.

The company urges travelers to take caution on “back” roads due to high winds and falling trees. Units were on scene for approximately 1 hour, per the post…
