Tennessee committee proposes fines for juvenile detention center violations

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Tennessee Advisory Commission of Intergovernmental Relations has proposed fines as a potential solution for mismanaging government-run juvenile detention centers.

TACIR spoke Thursday about their limited oversight power over government-operated juvenile facilities. Currently, the committee can only document issues without extensive enforcement authority.
