Plans for the Chehalem Cultural Center’s annual tribute to the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. are shaping up as the event approaches.
Headlined “The Other America,” the program is set for 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, in the ballroom of the cultural center at 415 E. Sheridan St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
This year’s event, which will center around the civil rights leader’s “The Other America” speech delivered in 1967 at Stanford University, will be followed by a small group discussion “about themes, their relevance in 1967 and their relevance today,” according to a release…
