Beckham Family Drama Heats Up: Brooklyn Unfollows Parents on Instagram

The long-running family feud within the Beckham clan has taken a digital turn, with Brooklyn Beckham unfollowing his famous parents, David and Victoria, on Instagram. In a tit-for-tat move, the elder Beckhams have reportedly reciprocated, severing their own social media ties with their eldest son.

This latest development comes despite recent reports suggesting a possible reconciliation was on the horizon. Brooklyn, who has been estranged from his parents for much of the year, had previously continued to follow their Instagram accounts until December 20th.

This means he would have likely seen Victoria’s recent “olive branch” attempts, including a sentimental post about his Christmas stocking. However, instead of prompting a reunion, it appears to have triggered the social media severing.

Sources close to the family, as reported by The Mirror, indicate that a similar situation unfolded earlier this year between Brooklyn and his brothers, Romeo and Cruz, with suggestions that blocking, rather than simply unfollowing, may have occurred. A source told The Sun that “Blocking or unfollowing someone on Instagram is like the Gen Z version of World War Three,” adding, “It’s a sad new low.”

It remains unclear whether Brooklyn initiated the unfollowing or if his parents blocked him first. While his younger sister, Harper Seven, now has an Instagram presence, she did not when the family discord began, and Brooklyn does not follow her.

The family rift has been ongoing for most of the year, with Brooklyn reportedly cutting off communication with his relatives and notably missing significant family events, including his father’s knighthood ceremony and 50th birthday. He also excluded all family members from his vow renewal ceremony this past summer.

Despite Victoria’s recent attempts at a peace offering, Brooklyn appears to have spent the holidays with his wife Nicola Peltz’s family in Miami. Nicola shared an Instagram photo featuring her husband and her brother by the pool at her family’s Palm Beach estate, a stark contrast to last year’s holiday celebrations with the Beckhams.

Meanwhile, Victoria posted a group photo on Boxing Day, including Nicola and Brooklyn, expressing, “Being together for the holidays makes me so happy. I love you all so much.”

Sources suggest Brooklyn might consider a reconciliation if his parents publicly apologize to him and his wife. However, with the latest social media snub, such a reunion appears increasingly unlikely.
