Christian County High School Update Provided

In preparation for changes this summer, the Christian County Board of Education is taking steps to ease the transition now. Thursday night, the School Board voted to officially close Hopkinsville High School, the exisiting Christian County High School, and Gateway Academy at the end of the school year.

Director of Pupil Personnel Dr. Melanie Barrett says this move is to align the district information at the state level with what is happening on the ground. Furthermore, the Board voted to move the Virtual Learning Academy and Bluegrass Learning Academy to the building at 220 Glass Avenue under the new moniker – Christian County Learning Center.

Meanwhile, work at the new high school is going well, with Alliance Corporation Vice President, Tim Geegan saying they are spot checking a large portion of the building…
