EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A new sandwich spot has opened in East Grand Rapids.
Molly’s Café and Deli opened at 2213 Wealthy Street near Lakeside Drive in the Gaslight Village district in November. It offers hot and cold sandwiches, with popular items like The Wealthy Turkey Reuben, Molly’s Club and a Chicken Caesar Wrap. It also offers salads and baked goods.
Owner Nichole Achram said she’d wanted to open a café like Molly’s for decades. Achram got her start in the restaurant industry when she was in 8th grade and went to culinary school to get a pastry degree in 2020. She had a hard time finding work at a restaurant during the pandemic and ended up in a corporate job, before getting a job as a pastry chef at another local business.

“I was thinking about this whole time,” she said. “This has been a dream of mine for probably 30 years… The timing I felt like wasn’t right for a long time. I had kids and all kinds of things. And then I just decided at one point — I’ve got to try and go for it.”…
